A number of Great War projects have taken place at Tideway School in the past ten years.
This site will describe what those projects are.
There is an annual school visit to the battlefields and cemeteries of the Great War.
A study of the Great War is part of the curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4.
Images of our most recent school visit in October 2011 have just been added to the site (29/10/2011).
The school will lay a wreath on 13/11 at the Newhaven War Memorial.
Last updated 29th October 2011.
Mrs Burville bought an album of negatives at a local flea market. These negatives have been scanned in school and you can see the results here.
Other projects described here include:
- The Trench (before moving into our new school we built a trench in the school grounds);
- Great War Churches;
- the Wreford-Brown Collection (original letters from the front).
FEBRUARY 2013 is our next visit to the Front.
